Outdoor Watering
- Reduce outdoor irrigation now – limit watering to once per week.
- Water just enough to keep root systems alive; allow lawns to go dormant.
- It’s best to water before 10 a.m.
- Do not overseed lawns or plant new trees or shrubs this fall.
- Water just enough to fill up an upside down frisbee, once a week.
- Your lawn should go dormant but not die utilizing this schedule until the drought is over.
- Watering using a private well is exempt and you should post signs stating you are using well water.
- Residential and commercial food gardens are exempt as well.
